We welcomed several new members of staff this year:
· Mr Duncan Thorpe, Mr Ross Griffin, Mr Adrian Flaherty and Mrs Beverley Zialor to the preparatory department
· Mrs Jane Billing as temporary Head of Music
· Miss Josephine Cotter to the Art department to cover maternity leave
· Mrs Julia Sedgwick to the office
· Mrs Norman returned part time this half term, after maternity leave and is now teaching at Walton
The expansion at Broughton and Walton and the increase in numbers here, mean that we welcome a number of new staff in September

Staff Promotions
I congratulate the following staff on their promotions, which take effect from September:
· Miss Terrar to Head of junior prep at BMPS (about to become Mrs Jeavons – congratulations!)
· Mrs Hart to deputy head of MKPS pre-prep
We have one of the strongest staff teams that we have had for a long time. We are only as good as our staff. Thank you all.
Staff News
· Mrs Norman gave birth to her 2nd child Kitty in the autumn.
· Mrs Pugh, assistant registrar, returned after maternity leave, with her baby son Morgan who is enjoying our baby room.
Staff Leavers
· Mr Webster is leaving Broughton to take up a post at a boarding prep school near Salisbury. I would like to thank him for all that he has done in helping to establish BMPS as a thriving and expanding preparatory school. We will be sorry to lose him and, of course, Mrs Webster and we wish them every success.
· Mrs Wood is expecting her second child and began maternity leave at the half term
· Mrs Streule, who joined us temporarily, leaves us at the end of this term
· Miss Barrett is leaving the prep department
· Miss Askew is moving out of the area

COURSES
Several members of staff attended courses during the year.
Hugh Clifton attended a number, one of which was
· “Creative Reading & Writing”, led by Michael Rosen, which he and Miss Terrar attended.
· Duncan Thorpe attended courses on Sustainability, with Louise Manson.
· Ross Urquhart went to the Prep School Hockey conference
And there were a number of others at all Key Stages, in different subjects.
