Natural History Museum

Class 5 visited the Natural History Museum at Tring, where they saw and learnt about different species of the animal kingdom.

 
 

Northampton Museum

Class 7 visited Northampton Museum where they observed 4 different sculptures - made of wood, clay, stone and metal. They then made their own clay sculptures.

 
 

New Libraries in the Preparatory Department

Both the fiction and non-fiction libraries in the prep department have been refurbished this term. The new fiction library is situated upstairs now and adjoins the English room. This lovely new space allows pupils to enjoy selecting and relaxing with their favourite books in a peaceful environment.

The official opening of the non-fiction library took place on 5th November, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by Mrs Pauley in the presence of the prep department pupils and staff. Mrs Pauley thanked Mrs Ziegler, librarian, for the refurbishment and introduction of the new Dewey system, which pupils will be taught how to use.
 

Open University sculpture walk

In September pupils from Class 11 enjoyed a visit to the Open University to experience the 40th Anniversary sculpture walk.

 
 

International Week at Milton Keynes Preparatory School

Pupils aged 3 to 11 years enjoyed a varied and exciting International week of planned activities during the last week of the Summer term.

Class 7 Trip to the Roald Dahl Gallery

On Monday 15th June children from Class 7 visited the Roald Dahl Gallery in the Museum of Buckinghamshire, Aylesbury. The children enjoyed their day finding out about Roald Dahl's life and work. There was a super gallery to explore characters and plots from his books and even dress up as the characters. The visit linked well with the children’s classroom work on this author.

 
 

Class 7 Visitors to School

In May Class 7 learnt about different jobs people have. Those who serve our country in the Armed Forces and those who work in the community. They were visited by SAC Ricky Deaton who has been in the Royal Air Force for 8 years, Royal Naval Trainee George Cave who is currently at University in Strathclyde and by Dr Ali who works in Paediatrics at MK Hospital. They learned so much from all three visitors.

 
 

Class 6 Plant Sale

Thank you for your support fundraising for Willen Hospice and Keech Cottage Children's Hospice. Class 6 raised £76.60.
